The way I support my daughter in her education is deeply influenced by my own childhood and schooling experience. I often look back on what I could’ve done differently — and now, with the benefit of hindsight after her graduation from primary school, I also reflect on our journey together and what I might have done better as a parent.

I came from a neighbourhood primary school and went on to what many called an "ah beng" secondary school, while my daughter also started in a neighbourhood school and is now in an IP girls’ school. Our paths have been different, yet each holds its own value and lessons.

What I share here is personal — drawn from real experiences, lessons learned, and the ups and downs of this parenting and education journey. I'm writing to document my daughter’s primary school years, and also to capture my thoughts with hindsight — what I believe in, what worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do differently if given the chance.

If you're a parent looking to learn from others’ stories, I hope you’ll find something here that resonates with you. Every child and family is unique, so what worked for us may not be the right fit for yours. Take what’s helpful, trust your instincts, and explore what works best for your child and your family.
